"While I have been mostly booking air in packages and few independently with long haul trips, I took the DTDA class, because frankly I can always learn something and for a little over $100, how could I not. It was also a great opportunity to take my first Marcie Muensterman class to see how I liked her teaching/sharing style as I recently connected to this group and was considering investing in the bundle. Yesterday with the East Coast storms, I had my first big group (35) traveling to PUJ. Thanks to this group I started a WhatsApp line of communication for them privately and me to stay connected throughout with activities and important notices. Flight 11:10AM // Delayed 2:45 PM
I was able to inform them of the delay before they knew using the Flight Aware app (free version)
Between 11:10 AM original time and 1:15 PM when the plane actually took off, it changed several times with messages coming and going - reminding travelers to stay close to the gate and one traveler calling and asking to change to another flight, but me taking a deep breath and advising her that this was a large group with a pvt transfer on the other end, so NO. Afterwards, I thought about how when you're at the store in line behind someone who needs a price check or their card won't work (sorry, it's usually me, LOL) and you move to another line and then the card reader goes down while the first line you were in is moving...anyway long story, but here's a Hell Yeah Shout Out to Marice for reminding me to take control, relax, communicate and DTDA!!!"

"I have clients traveling back from Cabo this evening and their departing flight was delayed about an hour and a half. They are connecting through Chicago and were definitely going to miss their connection to Cleveland. My agency owner is at Universal today so I didn’t want to bother her with this, and I’m so proud of myself for not freaking out!

Using what I learned in Marcie‘s class, I used the chat feature (which I have never done ) with American Airlines to discuss options for my clients. I had downloaded the Flighty app that I learned about from a podcast. Marcie mentioned several months ago, so I was able to see which terminal they were landing in and which terminal they’re connecting flight was departing from. Then I searched the O’Hare website to find out how they would get from one terminal to the other for their connection. I was able to send my client several messages (that she would receive upon landing) with enough information to get them to their connecting flight on time.

As of 5 minutes ago, they’ve landed in Chicago and are on their way to the terminal transfer bus to get their connecting flight that leaves in an hour. Luckily, that flight is leaving 10 minutes behind so that helped!
